- Have someone else nearby when you are exercising. This can be either a family member, friend, or trainer. If this is not possible, consider using a remote monitoring system.
- Less is better. While you do want to challenge yourself with your exercise routine, your focus should be steady, gentle steps of progress.
- Assess your workout environment by asking the following questions:
If you rely on a railing or object to keep you from falling, is that object stable?
Is your floor clear of obstacles and is the floor surface regular, non-slippery, and firm.
If you have balance issues, can you use straps or guards as a backup, in case you momentarily lose your balance while exercising.
